Get Out There
A lot of what I have been advocating is that anyone reading this, should stop holding back and pursue what they what for their life. I guess I’m just trying to hit that from a few different angles because I think it’s that important. Afterall, I really think that’s what this world wants you to do. What it needs you to do.
When I was young, I dreamt of being a rockstar. Naturally, you could assume this was met with great skepticism. Skepticism, in this case, is the word I use to describe getting a lot of shit for it. I mean, I get it. It was unconventional. I wasn’t likely to succeed. And for all I wanted it, I never pursued it. And that was a mistake. I want to clarify. Not an emotional mistake. Not a, “oh I wish I pursued it I feel bad now,” mistake. A strategic mistake.
Let me walk you through something.
When I was young, if you wanted to be a rockstar, you needed so many things to go your way. You needed money for gig equipment, for recording equipment. You needed skills and a tremendous amount of luck because the only way you were getting out there was to be signed.
Now let’s look at how the music industry changed the last 10 years. Recording equipment has moved to the range of free or up to 300 dollars for above average quality. You could record a nice album only spending that much. There are extensive tutorials on YouTube on how to make the recording sound good. You can put yourself out there now without the need of a record company. Theoretically, if you have a big enough online fan base, you can have more sway than a record company. There are songs that started on tik tok which are now playing on the radio.
I’m not saying its easy and requires no work. But I’m saying now you have a fighting chance. And that’s what I mean when I say that you really should pursue what you want. We live in a day and age that has given you a tremendous amount of tools. Each individual now has the fighting chance of building something incredible and letting it grow. In my opinion, this is the age of the artists and different thinkers.
And if the tools aren’t out there yet, just start walking towards it. There’s a good chance that something will come out that will help you along the way. I’ve said it a bunch of times, but I’ll say it again. You are brilliant and it’s a crime to not let the world see what you can do.
All the best,
Andreas
