Are you Worthy?

Probably not.  But why let that stop you now?

Sometimes we hold standards for ourselves that are unfulfillable.  We try and try, but the standards stay out of reach.  It makes us feel unworthy of our dreams.  Unworthy of our worth.  And worse, it makes you freeze.

You have a brilliant idea.  An aspiration.  A life changing development in mind.  But are you good enough to fulfill it.  It won’t be perfect if you do it.  So why even try?

You freeze at the standard of perfection and ultimately perform nothing.  And that is the worst result you could ask for when asking for perfection.  Nothing.

Maybe you’d rather not try and fail.  That seems likely.  But I argue that shying away from a dream is, in its essence, a failure.  You’ve failed yourself.  You had a bright light to shine to the world and you kept it hidden.  Now that’s a crime.

So if we’ve established that doing nothing is still failing, then we can say that you’re already willing to accomplish failure.  Why fear anything above that at this point?  I mean the worst you could do is already what you’re doing.  There’s no place to go but up.

Sure you might not hit the level of perfection you wished to achieve, but you can definitely do more than failing because you did nothing.  I mean that’s a pretty low bar.  You could trip and still clear it.

So maybe you’re not worthy by the standards you’ve set for yourself.  But why let that stop you?  It’s better to accomplish less than perfect, than a failure to try.  A failure to try is being neglectful to yourself and the beauty you could provide to the world.  It’s a crime you’ve committed against yourself.  Now how bad could falling short of perfect be when weighed against that.

Remember, you’re worthy enough to bring beauty in the world.  Don’t neglect that.

All the best,

Andreas
